À gauche, toute !
27 nov. 2008Here, people drive left.
Weird irish... Keep telling us that they're not english, but still having the same habits.
Like shopping in Tesco, going to Spar when there are no real need, not knowing how to cook properly, and eating muffins. (OK, the last one, every body would do that if they knew about muffins.)
And driving left.
So here, I must drive left. And just as in France, it's becoming messy... I mean, I drive on the left hand side of the road, but I still have to keep an eye on my right, because the priority is still to my right (although, I never liked to let the right pass).
And when I am on my way, in the morning (yes, I get up in the morning. At least, I try to.) there are often some cars parked on the cycle way (open from 7am to 10am, and from 12am to 19pm... Hell knows why. My guess is that there are no cyclist out for the night, nor for lunch in Dublin. Cyclists are thus some kind of human beings just going to work, eating in their office, then back to their place, eating and sleeping. If they try to get a social life -like, a normal one- going out, meeting some friends, having lunch with them and getting drunk with them, they will be killed by a drunk driver in the way back.).
To make the story short (OK, don't dream, my stories are never short), I hate having to drive in the middle of the road, simply because some fucking cunts decided that he needed some cigarettes, and stoped his car in the cycle way.
Then, I just want to get some iron rod to scratch (or even tear the wing mirror off) their buggy.
I may sound angry.
And indeed, I am.
But trust me, trying to avoid bus and cars driving beside you while overtaking parked cars is trickier that is seems.
Especially when you're driving left.
But I must admit that I get the kick out of overtaking cars blocked in traffic.
